Job Purpose
- Create video and photo social media pieces for multiple social media platforms (primarily Instagram and TikTok) both alone and with other students and professionals.
- Work both across campuses and remotely to create a wide variety of content, including attending events to capture content, and independently filming vlogs and trends.
- Edit video content, including creating a cohesive visual piece as well as confident recording voice‑overs and adding other sound elements.
- Maintain flexibility in content style, including vlog filming, interviews, and presenting to the camera (must be willing to appear in front of the camera and in video pieces).
- Respond to content briefs as well as proactively suggesting content ideas.
- Participate in creative content planning discussions, respond to feedback and carry out rounds of edits on content when needed.
- Research social media trends on different platforms and propose ideas for larger campaigns.
Person Specification
Qualifications- Must be a current University of Westminster student.
- Some experience filming and editing content (this can be personal rather than professional).
- Able to film and edit social media content in a variety of styles, including vlogs, interviews, presenting, and trends.
- Confidence working both independently and with others, including guiding and encouraging other students when participating in content.
- General understanding of social media, specifically Instagram and TikTok.
- Ability to carry out social media research and present findings.
- Able to respond to feedback in a professional and timely manner.
- Commitment to our organisation’s values.
- Professional and reliable, as well as confident and respectful when interacting with other students.
- Proactive, both in raising content ideas, and in being flexible when out filming content.
- Mindful of the diversity of students here at Westminster, and a commitment to represent them in our social media as far as practical and practicable.
