This role is perfect for students looking to gain experience as a graphic designer and build their portfolio. You will aid the in‑house graphic designer (your line manager) in creating print and/or digital assets to promote the various Westminster Students’ Union campaigns to students. It will be expected of you to liaise closely and collaboratively with your line manager.

We offer flexible hours, which can be adjusted on a weekly basis, and you will not be required to work on‑site. However, it might be proposed by your line manager group working sessions to finalise projects. This role would suit a creative and motivated Graphic Design student who is eager to build their portfolio, gain hands‑on experience in a professional setting, and collaborate within a fast‑paced, student‑led environment.

Responsibilities
  • Create stunning visual designs in line with our branding to promote the Union’s services and activities. This will vary for online and print formats.
  • Produce work from design briefs and guidelines, and within strict timeframes.
  • Support design work for day‑to‑day activities and larger campaigns.
  • Assist with putting up branding across all campuses.

Person SpecificationQualifications
  • Must be a current student at the University of Westminster studying Graphic Design.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Good knowledge of designing for digital and print mediums.
  • Able to work effectively in a team.
  • Able to deliver work within strict timeframes and to a high standard.
  • Ability to design from briefs and within brand guidelines.
  • Good knowledge of working with Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects or similar tools to produce work.
  • Ability to express creative ideas and designs confidently and coherently.
