About the area
UWA is making significant investments in the Information and Technology Services area to enable its strategic direction and goals. Cyber Security is one of these areas and is undergoing an uplift in capability and delivery of new services to align with the University’s risk strategy.
The Cyber Security & Technology Risk unit provides risk governance, architecture & design assurance, and operational governance to all aspects of the cyber security domain, from network security, platform security, application development, cyber awareness and education, and security operations.
About the opportunity
- Define and integrate cyber security best practices into the day-to-day operations of the University.
- Coordinate cyber security and technology risk assurance activities and provide oversight and governance over risk remediation activities, audit findings and issues in support of UWA’s overall IT risk management program.
- Proactively seek opportunities for enhancing the University’s technology risk profile.
About you
- Substantial relevant experience in IT risk management frameworks and audit processes.
- Extensive understanding of cyber security risks, threats, capabilities, security vulnerabilities and associated technologies covering infrastructure, platforms, applications, and cloud based solutions, including a demonstrated knowledge of common digital risk management frameworks, such as NIST CSF, ISO/IEC 27001, ACSC E8 and the ISM.
- Highly developed analytical skills, including attention to detail and the ability to identify and assess the severity and impact of risks in a large and complex environment.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives and priorities across multiple domains under strict timelines, as well as the ability to work well in a demanding, dynamic environment and meet overall objectives.
- Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency.
