Be part of a purpose-driven team supporting research that improves health outcomes, while contributing to the smooth delivery of impactful community and consumer involvement initiatives. Develop and apply your organisational and coordination skills across a diverse range of projects, events and stakeholders within a collaborative and supportive team environment. Part-time (0.2 FTE) appointment on a fixed term basis until 31 December 2026 with the possibility to extend. Base salary range: $83,212 – $92,231 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The WA Health Translation Network (WAHTN) works with the Universities, Medical Research Institutes, the State Government, Health Service Boards, the Private Hospital sector and the consumer and community sector in WA to drive local, national and international collaborations, to build capacity in key areas of health and medical research. WAHTN is an accredited National Health and Medical Research Council Research Translation Centre and member of the Australian Health Research Alliance. The Consumer and Community Involvement Program (CCI Program), is a key enabling platform of WAHTN that supports the health and innovation sector to ensure community and consumers are involved in research. The CCI Program’s vision is improving lives by ensuring the community’s voice is heard and understood in informing health research; and CCI Program’s mission is enabling consumer and community involvement in health research by supporting and connecting community with researchers, partners and policy makers. The UWA provides HR and financial support to the WAHTN in its role as Centre Agent for the Partners. The WAHTN Offices are located in the Harry Perkins Institute North Building on the QEII Campus.

About the opportunity

  • Support the CCI Coordinators in a range of administrative functions including typing up reports and all correspondence, development of systems processes, and organising travel.
  • Contribute to the coordination of a range of initiatives and projects associated with the CCI Program and ensure all required action is taken.
  • Work closely with CCI Program staff and administrative team members to ensure office systems, procedures and CRM are maintained and new policies and procedures are implemented, as appropriate.
  • Support the CCI Program team with community activities and events including administration, facilitation and honorarium payments.

About you

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency.
  • Substantial relevant administrative experience at an appropriate level.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with senior level stakeholders and community members.
  • Highly developed organisational skills with an ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in coordinating and/or facilitating community events and meetings.
  • Ability to work independently, show initiative and work productively as part of a team.
