About you

With a passion and genuine desire to make a difference, you will provide visionary academic leadership to pioneer a new area of research and education, working with a range of industrial partners and collaborators. The activity will focus on the development of research themes around innovation at the nexus of Creative Technologies and Advanced Manufacturing, Human Creativity and AI, Art and Science. The post holder will be expected to engage with Warwick’s existing academic, industrial and organisational collaborators as well as establishing new partnerships regionally, nationally and globally. The role is supported with a grant. To satisfy the grant conditions, the successful candidate must be recruited internationally and must not have been a UK resident for 24 months before the Grant Start Date of 1st October 2025, nor currently employed by any UK organisations or their overseas campuses. Therefore, the appointed candidate will be sponsored by the University under a Skilled Worker Visa.

About the Department

Due to the nature of the role, work will be undertaken across the Faculty of Arts and Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG). The Faculty of Arts brings together a wide range of humanities and creative disciplines—including English, History, Classics, Modern Languages, Film & TV, and Creative Arts—fostering interdisciplinary teaching and world-class research. The Faculty’s research is highly rated nationally and internationally, with much activity judged world-leading or excellent. Students benefit from vibrant programmes, specialist facilities and links to cultural events at Warwick’s Arts Centre. WMG is the largest department at the University of Warwick. Founded in 1980 by the late Professor Lord Kumar Bhattacharyya, it was born out of a bold mission: to reinvigorate UK manufacturing and drive competitiveness through innovation and skills development. It now employs around 800 people across 13 buildings, is home to over 2,500 students, and partners with over 700 organisations. We empower manufacturing industries and innovation-led organisations to thrive by being more sustainable, resilient, competitive and future-fit.
