About the Role
The University Finance Office has a vacancy in its dynamic and busy SAP Team for a SAP Senior Developer. In this role you will design, develop and enhance a SAP S/4HANA 2023 FPS2 On Premise system using your existing skills in ABAP (both classical and RESTful Programming Model), CDS Views, Fiori Elements, Gateway, UI5 and Workflow. This list is not exhaustive. Your contribution to the team’s effort will help us accelerate our goal of widening the use of SAP Fiori, UI5, and Embedded Analytics.
We have various requirements and work streams where your support, creativity and imagination as an experienced SAP Developer are needed. On a day‑to‑day basis, you will work closely with SAP Business and Functional Analysts, SAP Developers, SAP Helpdesk staff and users, and consult with the SAP Architect and Technical Lead regarding bespoke changes to SAP. In addition, you will maintain contact and liaise with key users of ancillary systems around the University.
The University of Warwick’s SAP Team uses Agile Project delivery methodology to accomplish its tasks. Part of your role as Senior Developer will be to provide input, follow defined team procedures, help to facilitate Agile Project Delivery, and take part in regular Agile Planning Meetings, Stand‑Ups and Retrospectives.

In previous positions you have demonstrated responsibility and drive for standards, team collaboration, best practices and skills development. With SAP technologies constantly evolving, the ideal candidate stays curious, embraces continual learning, and helps ensure our solutions remain modern, resilient and well‑engineered. In this role you are responsible for the technical design and translation of functional requirements into agreed technical specifications for SAP system changes. You are experienced in managing technical developments through all stages, from definition of requirements, through design and development, to testing and documentation.
You are an excellent communicator with a drive to share knowledge, learn new skills and further improve SAP Development at the University of Warwick. Educated to degree level or with equivalent experience, you already have in‑depth knowledge and SAP experience as a developer. You will also have gained business experience by working in a large and diverse organisation.
