The University of Warwick is recruiting for a Windows Platform and Application Tester to support migration from Windows 10 to Windows 11. The role will focus on preparing, validating, and deploying applications and systems in a secure and efficient environment.

  • Performing requirements analysis to determine application and system readiness for Windows 11.
  • Building and configuring Windows 11 systems, ensuring driver and hardware compatibility.
  • Developing comprehensive test plans and test scripts for both manual and automated testing of the Windows platform and associated applications.
  • Executing testing across multiple levels – including functional, integration, and system testing – to ensure application compatibility and system stability.
  • Managing the defect lifecycle, including documenting issues, working with stakeholders to resolve them, and retesting as needed.
  • Validating and testing core apps and user profiles, confirming smooth transition from Windows 10 to 11.
  • Creating and maintaining task sequences and scripts for automated builds and rollouts.
  • Supporting the configuration of group policies, user profiles, and key applications.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional IT teams to prepare for deployment and ensure user readiness.

Experience Required

  • A proven track record within a similar role.
  • Knowledge of Intune, SCCM, Windows 10 and 11 is essential.
  • Experience of HE or larger Public Sector organisation would be beneficial.

Additional Information

  • £300 per day (Inside IR35)
  • 2 days a week on campus (Thursday, and other day TBC)
  • 2-month assignment (to start ASAP)
