Additional Payments £2,000 per annum market supplement (pro-rated and non‑pensionable) is available for the successful applicant on provision of proof of current membership of an approved accounting body and evidence that they hold the appropriate accountancy qualifications.

WMG is seeking a proactive and commercially minded newly qualified or finalist Management Accountant to support its high‑profile collaboration with the HVM Catapult. Working across a portfolio of 60+ cutting‑edge research and industrial projects, you will support project managers to provide financial insight and strategic guidance using large data sets and the latest Microsoft, SAP and AI tools. With programme activity totalling around £20m per year, you will own the budgeting, forecasting and cost control cycles, and provide financial governance in a fast‑moving, innovation‑driven environment. Use this role to influence how major national manufacturing programmes are funded and delivered, while gaining exposure to a diverse range of technologies, stakeholders, and commercial models.

You should possess financial management experience, preferably including some experience in the public/not‑for‑profit sector. Excellent command of financial software applications and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel spreadsheets and Power Query, is also essential, as is the ability to explain accounts to non‑financial staff, who you will work closely with in the development of research grant applications.
