An exciting opportunity for an experienced lawyer to join the University of Warwick’s in‑house Legal and Compliance team. You will manage a diverse portfolio of contract and data protection matters and support broader in‑house activity and cross‑institutional projects.

Flexible Work Arrangements:

  • Part‑time positions considered, despite full‑time posting.
  • 4‑day working weeks and school‑hour aligned patterns supported.
  • Hybrid model: two in‑office days per week, currently Tuesdays and Thursdays, with pro rata options for part‑time roles.
  • In‑person attendance limited to Tuesdays until approximately January 2027.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a diverse portfolio of contract and data protection matters with a wide‑ranging value and risk profile.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of the legal and regulatory framework governing the education sector.
  • Support a single client, building trusted relationships with Academic and Professional Services colleagues across the institution to deliver strategic legal advice and support effective decision‑making, free from time recording, billing targets or traditional business development.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Expert communicator and strategic thinker with ample experience of delivering timely, accurate and practical advice to a range of clients.
  • Familiarity with the unique challenges faced by in‑house functions at large, complex higher education institutions.
