The Identity Engineer will play a key role in delivering secure, reliable identity solutions that underpin the University’s digital services, security posture, and regulatory compliance. This role combines specialist identity engineering expertise with operational support, continuous improvement, and service optimisation, and is critical in protecting sensitive data, enforcing security policies, and enabling compliant user access across systems.
Working within a collaborative technical team, you will implement and support identity platforms such as Entra ID and Active Directory, ensuring services are scalable, secure, and aligned with best practice. You will support deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting, taking ownership of complex issues and driving service improvement.

You are an experienced Identity Engineer with strong technical expertise and a track record of delivering secure, reliable identity and access solutions. You are confident working independently on complex, security‑critical systems, while collaborating effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders. You manage incidents effectively and resolve complex issues with professionalism. You bring a proactive, detail‑focused approach, a commitment to best practice, and a genuine interest in contributing to a high‑priority, institution‑wide initiatives. You are confident working independently and collaboratively, translating requirements into practical technical outcomes.

You’ll be part of the Information & Digital Group (IDG), which delivers secure, reliable and innovative digital services that support the University’s core academic and professional activities. Working within Infrastructure & Operations (I&O), the team is responsible for underpinning critical technology platforms and ensuring the resilience, security and performance of the University’s digital environment.
