Join the People team at an exciting time to help shape and influence our newly formed Case Management Team. With the opportunity to work on challenging and meaningful cases you will play a key role in delivering fair, consistent and high-quality outcomes across the institution.

Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for leading and managing a portfolio of complex and sensitive casework, including high-risk and contentious matters such as serious misconduct, grievance, discrimination and safeguarding cases.
  • There will be a particular focus on quality assurance, coaching and developing Case Advisers, and ensuring high standards of documentation, risk assessment and decision-making.
  • You will work collaboratively with colleagues across People Partnering, Legal and senior stakeholders to ensure fair, balanced and timely outcomes.
  • This role is critical in strengthening capability across the Case Management team and delivering a professional, trusted service across the organisation.
  • Some exposure to highly sensitive and complex situations is expected as part of the role.
  • In this role, your days will be varied, offering lots of opportunity to influence, lead and develop others.

About You

This position would suit an experienced, confident and resilient employee relations professional, with strong professional judgement and the ability to operate effectively in complex and sensitive situations. You will have excellent communication skills and, whilst often working independently, will bring a collaborative and supportive approach—recognising the importance of consistency and shared practice across a team. You should have strong organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage a varied caseload, prioritise effectively and maintain high standards of quality and compliance. You will need to be comfortable working with senior stakeholders and trade unions, have a keen eye for detail, and be committed to delivering fair, balanced and outcome-focused case management.

About the Department

This role lies within the People Partnering team who are supported by the People Operations team and Centres of Excellence including Employee Relations, Talent and Development and Reward. You’ll join a growing team of dedicated professionals who are constantly looking to improve and provide the best service possible to their stakeholders. The team are dedicated to enabling colleagues within the institution to achieve their maximum potential and deliver the University’s three pillars: excellence, financial sustainability and rankings and reputation.
