The Associate Director for Student Wellbeing & Safeguarding provides strategic leadership for the University’s wellbeing, mental health, disability support, and safeguarding provision. The role ensures the delivery of high-quality, student-centred services, robust safeguarding governance, and effective cross institutional collaboration to support a safe, inclusive and supportive environment for all students.
The Associate Director for Student Wellbeing & Safeguarding escalates to the Director of Wellbeing & Safeguarding (or to the Deputy of Wellbeing & Safeguarding when the Director of Wellbeing & Safeguarding is absent) for institutional or system-wide risk.
About You
The Student Wellbeing & Safeguarding Directorate provides institution wide leadership for supporting student welfare, mental health, disability inclusion, and safeguarding. The function brings together multidisciplinary professional teams who deliver proactive, responsive, and specialist support to ensure all students can thrive in a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Working at the intersection of wellbeing, risk management, safeguarding, and student experience, the Directorate operates as a central hub for expert advice, coordinated intervention, and cross university collaboration. It plays a critical role in enabling the university’s duty of care, supporting students through complex and high-risk situations, and developing evidence informed strategies that promote resilience, belonging, and equitable access to support.
