We are seeking a 0.4 FTE Assistant Professor (teaching track) with an interest in interdisciplinary education to deliver aspects of the BASc in Liberal Arts and Sciences and BA in Liberal Arts undergraduate degree programmes. The role is a fixed‑term contract available from 1 August 2026 until 31 July 2028.
Responsibilities
- Design and delivery of primarily quantitative and interdisciplinary core and optional undergraduate modules.
- Assist in delivering flagship programmes and support teaching and learning materials.
- Convene and deliver core and optional modules in the first, second and final years, with potential to teach postgraduate modules in the School for Cross‑Faculty Studies.
- Involved in other teaching and support activities including dissertation supervision and personal tutoring.
Qualifications
- Passion for teaching quantitative methods in an interdisciplinary teaching and learning environment.
- Familiarity with Problem‑Based Learning (PBL) and student‑led learning, or willingness to become familiar.
- A disciplinary or interdisciplinary specialism that requires primarily quantitative or mixed‑methods research – e.g. economics, psychology, statistics, health and epidemiology, or other quantitative social science backgrounds.
- Ability to stimulate and enthuse students from a diverse range of backgrounds and a desire to contribute to the development of Liberal Arts and Sciences education.
- Experience and skills that support teaching and learning in a liberal arts context.
