The School of Modern Languages and Cultures (SMLC) is implementing a strategic refresh to position the School as a national centre of excellence at the intersection of languages, cultures, AI, and digital technologies. This post is part of that initiative. The successful candidate will join a collaborative team developing the proposals that will shape SMLC’s new programme landscape, working with partners across the School, the Faculty of Arts, and the University. The role involves contributing to existing provision while actively developing new programmes and modules within the Innovation Portfolio.

We will consider applications for part‑time employment, even though the position is advertised as full time.

A strong research record or compelling research potential, and evidence of the capacity to work across disciplinary and institutional boundaries, are equally important. Experience of HE teaching is expected. We are actively seeking to diversify the disciplinary profile of SMLC and encourage applications from candidates who may not have considered a Modern Languages School as their natural home.
