The role is responsible for philanthropic proposition development on behalf of the Development and Alumni Engagement at Warwick.

The role is also responsible for equipping colleagues in the Development and Alumni Engagement team, key external volunteers, and relevant internal University departments with the appropriate materials, knowledge and training needed to effectively convey a culture of philanthropy, as well as the University’s philanthropic priorities and budget, to both internal and external audiences.

The role will monitor the external environment for emerging trends that may have potential application for the University of Warwick’s philanthropic priorities or supporter engagement, along with maintaining a view of the wider Higher Education sector to guide and build best practice around project development, proposal writing and communications.

This role will require political self-awareness and the capacity for problem-solving through lateral thinking.

About You

The successful candidate will play an active role in enabling the University of Warwick secure significant philanthropic gifts by developing high-value, large-scale project propositions, to enable the Development and Alumni Engagement team (DAE) to secure long-term transformational donations and diversify the pool of individuals and organisations giving to Warwick. This includes enabling fair and consistent assessment of fundraising priorities from across the Institution, managing and contributing to the production of compelling cases for support, and bespoke fundraising proposals, that accurately represent philanthropic priorities and donor led projects, including their costings. The role will be carried out in collaboration with the Senior Fundraising Writer, Senior Donor Relations Manager and the Philanthropic Finance Manager.

The post holder will be expected to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Where required, support the initiation of project planning for any associated fundraising campaign working with experts across the team.
