The role of the Principal Systems Development Officer (Systems) in the University's Software Development Department involves the expert design, development, and management of robust integration solutions between the University's Student Record System (SRS) and various internal and external applications. This role is pivotal in ensuring seamless data flow across the University’s digital ecosystem, directly supporting the student journey through automated and reliable system connectivity.
The chosen candidate will act as a technical lead in the development of data pipelines and system interfaces, utilising SQL, SSRS, and .NET frameworks to build scalable and secure integration architectures. By focusing on data integrity and high-performance system communication, the post holder will ensure that student data is synchronised, accurate, and accessible where needed.
Working within an Agile Scrum environment, the individual will collaborate closely with the wider development team to deliver functional integration components in iterative cycles. The goal is to provide a unified data experience across all platforms, ensuring that security measures and data protection regulations are embedded within the core of every system development.
