The University of Waikato’s New Zealand Graduate School of Medicine (NZGSM) is the first new medical school in Aotearoa New Zealand for more than 50 years – created to transform the way we educate doctors for our communities. As an Educational Clinical Fellow, you will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering an innovative, graduate-entry medical programme designed for the future. This is your opportunity to help shape curriculum and teaching that reflect cultural safety, digital innovation, interprofessional learning, and partnership with Māori, Pacific, rural and regional communities. You\’ll teach, mentor and inspire the next generation of doctors through lectures, tutorials, clinical skills sessions and digital learning. You\’ll collaborate with passionate educators and clinicians to bring a new vision for medical education to life – one that is grounded in excellence, equity and service. This teaching-focused role includes the delivery of lectures, tutorials, and clinical skills sessions; development of digital and case-based learning resources; and contribution to curriculum design and student support. You will work collaboratively with academic and clinical colleagues to foster a culture of excellence, inclusivity, and partnership. This is a full time, fixed-term role for one year. Ko wai koe? – Who are you? You are an early-career doctor (PGY3-5 preferred) with a genuine passion for medical education and improving health outcomes for Aotearoa New Zealand. You hold a medical degree and are registered (or eligible for registration) with the Medical Council of New Zealand. You are an engaging teacher and collaborator who enjoys innovation and is eager to contribute to a start-up medical school environment. You bring strong interpersonal and communication skills, a commitment to advancing Māori and Pacific health, and the ability to work effectively across disciplines. Experience with digital learning tools, generative AI, or educational research will be an advantage. Ko wai mātou? – Who are we?
