MRS260H1Y Experiential Learning in Interprofessional Education and Collaboration

Course Description

Experiential Learning in Interprofessional Education and Collaboration explores and examines key concepts and skills surrounding IPE, reflection, and communication from the perspective of the Medical Radiation Sciences (MRS) professions. Experiential learning activities will expose MRS students to other health profession students in various contexts to enable them to better understand their own and other health profession roles, appreciate team dynamics in healthcare, and learn with and from each other. Through the various learning opportunities, MRS students will gain valuable collaborative and communication skills to help prepare them to be collaborative practice-ready healthcare professionals.

Estimated TA support: None

Class Schedule: Mondays 15:30-18:30, biweekly

Sessional dates of appointment: Sept 2, 2025, to April 30, 2026

Salary

Sessional Lecturer I – $9,820.70 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE)

Sessional Lecturer I Long Term – $10,510.035 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE)

Sessional Lecturer II – $10,510.035 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE)

Sessional Lecturer II Long Term – $10,760.275 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE)

Sessional Lecturer III – $10,760.275 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE)

Sessional Lecturer III Long Term – $11,030.355 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE)

Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail. This course is 0.5 FCE.

Minimum Qualifications

MSc Advanced Practice (Radiotherapy and Oncology) or a MSc with specialization or competency in the subject matter of the course and Medical Radiation Sciences. Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) and membership with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT). Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in medical imaging and/or radiation therapy practice setting.

Preferred Qualifications

We are seeking applicants with a proven record of teaching and curriculum development the undergraduate or graduate-level.

Description Of Duties

All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a University credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; out-of-class interactions with students via e-mail and office hours; development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and exams; calculation and submission of grades; ordering of all necessary readings; supervision of TAs (if any) assigned to the course.
