Course number and title: GLA2029H The Sustainability Imperative: Implications for Global Affairs and Public Policy
Course Description
The course examines the urgent imperative for sustainability as a central driver of change in global affairs and public policy. With escalating climate, biodiversity, and inequality crises, the course explores how this imperative is reshaping international cooperation, global governance, trade, corporate strategy, urban development, and development finance. Students will develop applied policy and business skills through real-world assignments, including a final grant proposal to a multilateral environmental fund (the Global Environment Facility (GEF)).

Sessional Lecturer III โ€“ Long Term – $11,030.36

Minimum Qualifications: Graduate degree in Economics with a focus in Environmental Economics.
Preferred Qualifications: Professional experience in the field of sustainability.
Description of duties: Developing the syllabus, teaching one 3-hour lecture per week at the graduate level, providing weekly office hours for academic counseling of students, preparing and delivering course material; preparing and delivering assignments and tests; marking student work and submitting grades.

Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12 of the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 collective agreement.
Please note: Undergraduate or graduate students and postdoctoral fellows of the University of Toronto are covered by the CUPE 3902 Unit 1 collective agreement rather than the Unit 3 collective agreement, and should not apply for positions posted under the Unit 3 collective agreement.
