Sessional Lecturer – CTL7002H – Curriculum and Teaching in Mathematics
Course number and title: CTL7002H – Curriculum and Teaching in Mathematics Course description: An introduction to education techniques and the role of the teacher in implementing, evaluating and designing mathematics curricula for students in grades K to 10. Additionally, the course explores methods for curriculum planning and development, including practical assessment strategies. This course is normally open only to students in the Teaching program. NOTE: This course is one of the pair of courses to be taught by the same instructor. Both courses are connected to an inquiry-based, data driven school-specific Master of Teaching Junior/Intermediate cohort partnered with a TDSB school. As such, one instructor will be hired to teach CTL7002 Curriculum and Teaching in Mathematics and CTL 7014 Fundamentals of Teaching and Learning. This course will involve class time at both OISE and at the TDSB school site. The successful applicant must have leadership experience within TDSB and have demonstrated current knowledge grounded in existing professional networks with TDSB educational priorities, as well as demonstrated skills related to building community and program development involving a range of stakeholders (including school educators, OISE participants and administration, and community partners).

Salary
As of September 1, 2025, the minimum stipend is $9820.70 (inclusive of vacation pay) for a half credit course. As of January 1, 2026, the minimum stipend is $ 9820.70 (inclusive of vacation pay) for a half credit course.
Salary may be prorated based on the appointment percentage.
Minimum Qualifications : Candidates must: Possess a doctoral degree in math. Have TDSB leadership experience and expert knowledge of current TDSB education priorities and strategies. Have demonstrated current knowledge grounded in existing professional networks in TDSB educational priorities. Demonstrate skills related to building community and program development involving a range of stakeholders (including school educators, OISE participants and administration, and community partners). Demonstrate currency and mastery in the course subject matter. Demonstrate deep knowledge and experience in contexts, policies and practices of the division (Primary/Junior K-Gr. 6, Junior/Intermediate Gr. 4-10, Intermediate/Senior Gr. 7-12). Demonstrate excellence in teaching, including online teaching as relevant. Demonstrate evidence of knowledge and practice of principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion. Demonstrate excellence in teaching and leading teachers/teacher-candidates professional learning. Possess an Ontario Teaching certificate with OCT qualifications in the relevant division.

Description of duties : Prepare, organize, and teach this half-course graduate seminar; be available to students seeking assistance between classes; evaluate and provide students with feedback on their work. Liaise with school leadership and staff.
