Overview
Lecturer in Specialist Community Public Health Nursing – AC3, full time: 35 hours per week. Permanent. Lanarkshire Campus (post holder may be required to work across UWS campuses).
An opportunity to join the Adult Nursing, Community and Health Division as a lecturer within the School of Health and Life Sciences, where teaching and research are at the heart of the school’s activities.
Responsibilities
- Deliver and develop modules within the MSc Specialist Community and Public Health programmes and related portfolio; contribute to teaching across adult nursing, mental health and social care programmes.
- Contribute to module and programme development; participate in consultancy, CPD and scholarship to enhance teaching or academic knowledge.
- Support wider academic activities and deliver high-quality teaching to ensure an outstanding student experience.
- Engage in research and scholarship aligned to school activities and contribute to curriculum currency and clinical relevance.
- Collaborate with colleagues to lead or contribute to programme development and engagement with wider academic activities.
Qualifications
- Hons Degree and/or professional child and school health experience
- NMC registration – Registered Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (School Nurse)
- Experience or breadth of specialist knowledge in the discipline to work within established teaching/research programmes
- Familiarity with a variety of theories to promote and assess learning
- Understanding of equality and diversity issues as they may impact academic content and student needs
- Commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and supporting an outstanding student experience
- Excellent collaborative and interpersonal skills
