About this role
Are you passionate about keeping things in use and out of the bin? Do you want to be part of making the Frenchay Sustainability Hub the best student and staff resource it can be? We are looking for someone who can practically support reuse activity on Frenchay campus; this internship is 20 hours a week from June to September 2025. The role will be mainly practical; moving, sorting and preparing donated items for reuse in the Hub. These items will be donated by students leaving UWE as well as staff and need to be checked for quality and suitability before coming into the Hub.
In addition to daily tasks, there is an opportunity to undertake a project relating to Hub activities and present results of this at the end of the internship. This could relate to research into barriers to reuse at the Hub, opportunities to expand or improve the Hub offer in the future, or comparisons with other universities and reuse undertaken elsewhere. This will provide the successful candidate with additional experience and an example of written work relating to reuse and circular economy activity which could be used on a CV or in an interview.
About you
You will be passionate about reuse and keeping items in use for as long as possible, with an interest in, and ability to, sort and prepare items for the Sustainability Hub.
