We are looking for both part-time and full-time administrators to join our Student and Programme Support (SPS) Team at our Frenchay Campus. This role is offered on a permanent basis. As an SPS Administrator, you will work collaboratively with academic and professional service teams to deliver a high-quality service that supports students to achieve success in their studies. The responsibilities of the team are extremely varied and touch on almost every aspect of the student journey, from the moment they arrive at UWE until their graduation and beyond.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a wide range of administrative experience in a professional office environment. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands are key in this role. The successful postholder will have good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, as well as experience in working with complex database systems. The ability to manipulate data and produce basic reports is essential in this role.

Team working is an integral part of everything the SPS team does and you will have the ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders across the university. Excellent customer service is at the heart of everything we do at UWE Bristol and the postholder will be able to demonstrate their strong client focus and how their skills and experience to date can contribute to providing the best experience possible to our students.

There will be times when workloads are high, so it's essential that you are adaptable, flexible, and able to approach your work in a calm and professional manner. You will be supported in learning this role and given opportunities to develop your skills and experience through a thorough induction programme as well as various in-house learning and development courses.

From the first point of registration to graduation and beyond, our team of over 250 professional staff is committed to enhancing the student experience and ensuring that every student is able to make the most of the extensive opportunities available throughout their journey. This is enabled by working closely with all areas of the University, the Students Union and a wide range of external stakeholders.

Within SAS, the Student & Programme Support Team (SPS) plays an important role in managing the student record from registration through to graduation, including the assessment processes. Some examples of the tasks we are responsible for are:

  • Supporting students to register on a course;
  • Managing their assessments to ensure documentation is accurately prepared to be considered at examining boards;
  • Clerking various meetings, including exam boards;
  • The publication of students' results.

The ability to work as part of a team and to be able to build effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels is essential. This role is therefore campus-based for at least 60 percent of your time, with the opportunity to work from home on the remaining days when appropriate.
