UWE Bristol's School of Health and Social Wellbeing runs a range of postgraduate (PG), undergraduate (UG) and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programmes related to Diagnostic Radiography, and a BSc Medical Imaging in partnership with Hainan Medical School, China. You will lead on teaching and assessing specifically related to cross sectional imaging (CT and/or MRI specialities), and some general radiography related content within Diagnostic Radiography (mainly on the BSc Medical Imaging, CPD courses, and BSc Diagnostic Radiography programmes as relevant), being an academic personal tutor role, undertaking research support for students, and being part of the Radiography team in curriculum development and quality monitoring.
This post will specifically focus on contributing to our BSc Medical Imaging programme in UWE College of Hainan Medical University, Hainan, China. This could be through a combination of:
- Teaching and assessing face to face (in English) on the BSc Medical Imaging in China (involving circa 2-3 weeks of travel once or twice a year)
- Backfilling teaching and assessment responsibilities of colleagues to release them to travel to China.
- Teaching and assessing on the UK undergraduate and postgraduate Radiography and CPD CT modules relevant to your areas of expertise.
You need to be registered with the HCPC as a Diagnostic Radiographer and be able to demonstrate clinical and teaching expertise in cross sectional imaging (CT and/or MRI). Familiarity with Quality Assurance (QA) in radiography is desirable (but not essential), with opportunities provided to develop QA skills appropriate to the role.
A strong understanding of promoting holistic patient centred care, and effective communication is essential, alongside a comprehensive understanding of assessment and management strategies, interprofessional and inter agency working and contemporary healthcare. You'll have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a commitment to close team working.
