Doctoral Researcher: Islamic Finance, Governance and Constitutional Legitimacy
We are delighted to announce a fully funded PhD position at UWE Bristol. The successful candidate will examine how Islamic finance institutions contribute to public trust, economic governance and constitutional legitimacy in Central Asia and Southeast Asia (Uzbekistan and Indonesia).
The position forms part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Doctoral Network A Sociology of Post-Imperial Islamic Legal Cultures (MINARET), funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme.
This PhD offers an exciting opportunity to explore the relationship between Islamic finance, governance and institutional legitimacy through a comparative study of Uzbekistan and Indonesia, while being part of an international doctoral research network.
