Children and Young People’s (CYP) Nursing at UWE Bristol is part of the interdisciplinary School of Health and Social Wellbeing, a thriving academic community with strong links to practice and a clear focus on impact. We deliver a suite of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes approved by The Nursing and Midwifery Council.
Our CYP team is committed to the delivery of high-quality teaching, excellent student support and experience and outstanding applied research. We place a strong emphasis on connecting academic knowledge with the realities of contemporary nursing practice, ensuring our students are well prepared for their professional careers.
Due to our continuing growth and success, we have a fantastic opportunity for 2 enthusiastic and experienced academics to join the CYP team (1 on a permanent basis, 1 on a fixed term basis). You will contribute primarily to pre-registration education, with all teaching based at our Glenside Campus in Bristol.
Working collaboratively with colleagues across the School and wider University, you will be expected to contribute to a stimulating and supportive learning environment where students can develop the knowledge, skills and professional confidence they need to succeed.
This is predominantly a teaching post, with responsibilities including module leadership, academic personal tutoring and practice tutoring. There may be opportunities to contribute to research and knowledge exchange, but the primary focus of the role is on the delivery and development of excellent teaching and student learning.
About You
You’re a creative, enthusiastic and innovative individual, qualified with a minimum of a BSc in Nursing and hold current registration with The Nursing and Midwifery Council.
You’re someone who brings a strong commitment to teaching, learning and student support, with the ability to inspire and engage students in your professional development. You will also draw on your experience of nursing practice and demonstrate a clear understanding of the contemporary challenges and opportunities within the profession. Excellent communication and teamwork skills will be essential, as you will be working collaboratively within an inclusive and supportive academic community.

This post is based at our Glenside Campus which is set within beautiful grounds in Stapleton, just three miles north east of Bristol City Centre.

Interviews are scheduled to take place at our Glenside Campus, on a date that is still to be confirmed. Shortlisting is expected to be completed within 2 weeks of the closing date depending on application volumes.
We have one full-time, permanent post available and one full time, fixed term role covering a period of maternity leave for 12 months or the earlier return of the post holder.
