The School of Social Sciences at the University of the West of England (UWE), Bristol, is seeking to appoint two Lecturers in Psychology who have a commitment to innovative and high-quality teaching, to complement our existing teaching and research expertise. Applications are welcome in all areas of psychology, but applicants must have the necessary expertise to be able to teach in at least one of the core areas of the curriculum for undergraduate/conversion British Psychological Society (BPS) accredited psychology programmes (e.g., biological, cognitive, developmental, or social psychology; individual differences). Those with knowledge and expertise of forensic psychology are also eligible to apply.
There are two full-time equivalent posts (1.0 FTE) and both involve contributing to our Psychology provision across our programmes, mainly at undergraduate/conversion level. One post is fixed term for 18 months, and 1 is permanent. Please clearly indicate on your application whether you have a preference for the fixed-term or permanent post.
The successful applicants will be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues in the development and delivery of high-quality teaching. They would also be Academic Personal Tutors and supervise students on our undergraduate psychology programme (Level 6 dissertation research project). The role will primarily be covering teaching and supervision on our undergraduate/conversion programmes, with the potential to be involved with some postgraduate provision (dependent on experience and expertise).

Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to high-quality teaching and have evidence of an established track record of research excellence and publications commensurate with their career stage. They might also possess a track record in securing research funding, or be able to demonstrate the potential to attract such funding.
The post is based within the interdisciplinary School of Social Sciences, which is part of the College of Health, Science and Society. Staff within psychology primarily contribute to the Psychological Sciences Research Group (PSRG) and/or the Social Science Research Group (SSRG). Our staff are professional practitioners and researchers at the forefront of their specialist areas. Our students benefit from their cutting-edge insight, practical experience, and innovative approaches to teaching.
We collaborate closely with employers and stakeholders to ensure that our curricula remain current, topical, and relevant to societal needs. We offer a suite of undergraduate and postgraduate psychology programmes accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and other professional bodies.
