Overview

This role is a unique and exciting opportunity to work jointly between UWE Bristol’s Research and External Engagement (REE) division and the Bristol City Office. The role sits within the Civic and Inclusivity team within REE and will be responsible for specialist advice in relation to the collection, management, analysis and dissemination of data relating to the impact of the work of the City Office and the UWE Bristol Civic and Inclusivity team. REE is a new integrated service dedicated to driving forward the University’s ambitions for, research, innovation, skills and enterprise. This professional service works to support our students, drive research excellence, upskill and reskill the region’s workforce, strengthening relationships and engagement with our alumni, business and community partners. Through cutting-edge research initiatives, hands-on learning opportunities, strategic partnerships, civic leadership, and skills delivery, we will empower individuals to thrive in an ever-changing world. The Civic and Inclusivity team within REE will develop and deliver the University’s civic and social impact ambitions, identifying opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaboration with regional government, civic and community partners. The team develop and deliver projects and activities that create social value, inclusive growth and opportunities for all, enhancing student and staff experience through community engagement, voluntary action, and enterprise-driven social impact. The One City approach brings people together to make Bristol a better place for everyone. It is a way of working that encourages collaboration across different sectors, organisations, and communities to tackle shared challenges and seize opportunities. The City Office, hosted by Bristol City Council, helps coordinate this work, creating the conditions for key city partners from across all sectors and communities in Bristol to work together to support our overarching goal of a fairer, healthier & more sustainable city by 2050. The City Office partners with organisations across the city and is supported by funding from key local institutions, as well as work placements, secondments, grants, and sponsorships. The City Office owns the Bristol One City Plan, with a focus on driving progress on four key missions for the City; the missions focus on an equitable economy, fair life chances for our children and young people, strong communities, and climate and nature recovery and resilience. The City Office team convenes a wide range of engagement opportunities and provides capacity to drive forward impactful projects.

Data Analyst and Insight (Civic and City Office) – Responsibilities

The Data Analyst and Insight (Civic and City Office) role will evaluate and monitor the impact of UWE Bristol’s Civic work and support the evaluation of the City Office. They will work to evaluate both the University’s and City Office’s partnerships and outcomes towards the delivery of the One City Plan and UWE Bristol’s RISE agenda and REE’s Civic & Community engagement work.

About You

You will be a self-motivated and collaborative professional, passionate about civic engagement, partnership and measuring social impact. You will have experience in working in partnership, evaluating and monitoring partnerships impact and have a strong understanding of Bristol’s community, public sector and business partnership landscape.

Where is this role based?

This post is split between our Frenchay campus where we have invested in the latest facilities and resources to give both our staff and students access to everything they need to succeed and the Bristol City Council City Hall, on College Green.

Interviews are scheduled to take place at our Frenchay Campus in the week commencing 13th/14th November 2025. Shortlisting is expected to be completed within 2 weeks of the closing date depending on application volumes. We aim to give candidates at least a week’s notice to attend interview. This is a full-time, permanent post working 37.5 hours per week. UWE Bristol is a campus-based University and it is vital to our success and the delivery of an outstanding experience for our students that our campuses are dynamic and vibrant places to learn and spend time. This role is therefore office based for at least 60 percent of your time, with the opportunity to work from home on the remaining days. At least one day a week will need to be spent at Frenchay campus and at least one day a week at City Hall.
