Job Overview
Senior Lectureship in Pharmacy Practice at UWE Bristol. The post supports the delivery of a new Pharmacy (MPharm) programme that is progressing through GPhC accreditation. The successful candidate will contribute to curriculum development, pedagogy focused on the practice of pharmacy and its interface with the external pharmacy profession.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, deliver and assess the MPharm curriculum in Pharmacy Practice, with an emphasis on practical skills and external industry interface.
- Lead teaching, assessment and new module development for the MPharm programme.
- Design, manage and expand work‑based placements, creating a diverse portfolio that prepares students to become competent pharmacy practitioners.
- Build and maintain links with local community pharmacy, NHS organisations, industry and businesses to secure placement opportunities.
- Provide leadership, mentor staff and support professional development through existing staff development funds.
- Keep abreast of the latest developments in pharmacy education and external best‑practice benchmarks.
Qualifications & Experience
- PhD in a relevant subject or a master’s qualification with significant professional practice.
- GPhC registration and demonstrable pharmacy professional experience.
- Experience in organising, developing and delivering teaching within an MPharm degree programme.
- Experience in developing and managing work‑based placements.
- Leadership skills, ability to motivate groups, collegiate working and strong organisational skills.
- Evidence of staying current with subject developments and external best practices.
Employment Details
Full‑time, permanent position based at the Frenchay campus. The role requires approximately 60 % campus presence with the remaining days eligible for work‑from‑home. Standard DBS clearance is required.
