Lecturer in Psychology – Commitment to innovative and high‑quality teaching and supervision.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high quality teaching across BSc (Hons) Psychology and MSc Psychology (Conversion) programmes, including core curriculum areas approved by the British Psychological Society.
- Support Academic Personal Tutoring (APTS) and supervise student dissertation research projects (Level 6 and 7).
- Collaborate with colleagues in developing and delivering teaching, including curriculum design and assessment.
- Engage in research activities and maintain a research record commensurate with career stage, including publication, securing funding, and contributing to group research.
- Participate in departmental, College and university activities, enhancing the student experience and scholarship.
Qualifications
- Strong commitment to teaching excellence and evidence of a track record of effective research.
- Experience supervising student research projects and academic personal tutoring.
- Knowledge of at least one core area of the BPS accredited psychology curriculum (e.g., biological, cognitive, developmental, forensic, social, individual differences).
- Suitable academic qualification at PhD level or higher, with potential to secure research funding.
- Preference for candidates with expertise in the core curriculum areas; applicants welcome from all areas of psychology but must meet teaching requirement.
