Do you have a passion for fashion, garment construction and creative making? Central Saint Martins – part of University of the Arts London – is seeking a Support Technician – Fashion to join our world-leading community of artists, designers and innovators.
In this hands-on role, you’ll play a vital part in supporting the next generation of fashion designers. Working within the BA Fashion team, you’ll provide expert technical support in garment construction, soft tailoring, fabric properties and specialist industrial machinery.
You’ll help students explore materials, processes and production methods, ensuring they gain the skills and confidence to bring their creative ideas to life.
You’ll work collaboratively with colleagues across our technical and academic teams, maintaining equipment, ensuring safe working practices and supporting exhibitions and events. This is an exciting opportunity to share your technical expertise in an environment where creativity, innovation and sustainability are at the heart of everything we do.
About you
You’ll bring a strong background in fashion and garment construction, supported by an undergraduate degree or equivalent professional experience. You’ll have experience working in a technical or studio environment, with an ability to explain and demonstrate techniques to learners in an inclusive and accessible way.
Confident in using and maintaining industrial sewing machinery, you’ll be proactive, organised and safety‑conscious, ensuring workshops run smoothly and students are well supported. You’ll enjoy problem‑solving, working collaboratively, and contributing to a positive and creative learning culture.
