The opportunity
Do you thrive in busy, people-focused environments where no two days are the same?
At Central Saint Martins, creativity is at the heart of everything we do – and our reception is often the first point of contact for students, staff, and visitors. As our Operations Assistant – Reception, you\’ll be at the centre of campus life, providing a warm and professional welcome while ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day operations.
From handling a high volume of enquiries to supporting events, managing ticketing, and supervising our gallery during public openings, this is a varied and rewarding role where you\’ll make a real impact on the experience of everyone who steps through our doors. You\’ll also play a vital role in keeping our spaces safe, organised, and vibrant – helping us deliver the exceptional service our community expects.
Your profile
You\’ll bring experience of working in a busy, customer-facing environment, with the confidence to handle enquiries efficiently and calmly, even under pressure. Strong organisational skills and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office are essential, alongside the ability to prioritise tasks and maintain attention to detail.
Ideally, you\’ll have some knowledge of event ticketing or CRM systems, and experience of working in events or leading casual staff. But just as important are your communication skills, your friendly and professional manner, and your willingness to undertake training such as first aid or mental health first aid. Above all, you\’ll be someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in delivering excellent service, and contributes positively to a collaborative team environment.
