Ray Stitch is a fabric shop, haberdashery and sewing school in Islington with a team of 5 – 6 shop staff and 4 – 6 workshop leaders. We are seeking an assistant who will be required to serve and advise customers in the shop and take part in general duties associated with stocking and maintaining a busy shop. If you are a big fan of fabric and sewing and have very good customer service skills, this is the job for you.
Responsibilities:
- Serving customers and helping with customer queries.
- Managing and reordering stock in the shop.
- Managing and up‑keeping all display areas in the shop.
- Checking stock levels on Shopify.
- Uploading products and images to Shopify.
- Putting together online orders.
- Assisting in all general shop duties alongside other staff.
Skills and Experience Required:
A good knowledge of fabrics and a keen interest in sewing is essential as you will be expected to advise customers on suitable fabrics, help fix their stitching problems and respond to a wide range of sewing related queries. Experience in a customer facing role would be useful but not necessary, although a friendly and helpful attitude and excellent customer service skills are important.
