This is a unique opportunity for an experienced academic leader to shape the future of London College of Communication's (LCC) internationally recognised Screen School. The Screen School is renowned for its collaborative, inter-disciplinary approach to creative education, mirroring the realities of the screen industries. Our extensive course portfolio spans film and television, animation, sound arts, games design, visual effects, and virtual reality.
As Dean, you will play a central role in the strategic leadership, management and development of research and knowledge exchange activities and infrastructure of the School, providing guidance through a critical phase of growth and innovation. You will have the chance to make a profound impact on the Screen School by helping to deliver LCC's strategic vision, 'Creative Communication Transforms the World'. This vision will help us address the major issues of our time, while nurturing a vibrant, creative and inclusive community of students and staff. You will be instrumental in embedding this vision across the Screen School, fostering a culture of excellence in teaching, research and knowledge exchange.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in leading change and ensuring a smooth transition as the College prepares to move to our new state-of-the-art vertical campus at Elephant and Castle in 2027. As a key member of the College Executive Board, you will also lead the ongoing development of a high-quality, inclusive, and industry-informed curriculum, positioning the School as a global leader in its subject areas.
About You
We are looking for a skilled practitioner who is widely recognised as a leading authority in their field, with widespread public or professional recognition. You will demonstrate an understanding of academic provision, trends and issues in higher education, both nationally and internationally, with particular insight into the evolving landscape of screen-related courses. A substantial track record in teaching, research or professional practice within a relevant discipline is essential, along with excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills. You will also demonstrate the ability to apply innovative approaches to your leadership of academic programmes, devising creative solutions to complex challenges that drive strategic impact.
