The Communications and Public Relations Assistant will support the planning and delivery of the organisation’s communications and PR activities. Working closely with the senior communications team, the role will assist in media relations, content creation, social media management, and internal communications, helping to ensure consistent and engaging messaging across all channels. This is an ideal role for an organised, proactive communicator looking to develop a career in communications and public relations within a fast-paced, creative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of PR and communications initiatives aligned with the organisation’s brand and business objectives.
- Assist in drafting and preparing press releases, media statements, Q&As, presentations, and other communications materials.
- Help maintain media lists and support relationships with journalists, media outlets, and external stakeholders.
- Track media coverage and assist with monitoring public sentiment and relevant industry news.
- Support the organisation’s social media channels (e.g. Instagram, LinkedIn, WeChat, Line), including content scheduling and basic performance reporting.
- Assist in the coordination of PR campaigns, events, and launches.
- Work closely with in-house creative teams to ensure branding and imagery are consistent across communications materials.
- Support internal communications by helping prepare staff updates, announcements, and presentations.
- Liaise with external agencies and consultants as required.
- Provide general administrative and organisational support to the communications team.
Skills and Experience Required
- Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related discipline.
- Previous relevant industry entry-level experience (including internships or assistant roles) in communications, PR, marketing, or media.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
- Enthusiasm for media, communications, branding, and storytelling.
- Well-organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- A proactive, collaborative approach and willingness to learn.
- Software Skills Required
- Microsoft Word and PowerPoint (for presentations and communications materials).
- Familiarity with social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, X, WeChat, and Line.
- Exposure to social media scheduling or monitoring tools (e.g. Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social, HubSpot) is a plus.
- Basic understanding of analytics tools (e.g. platform insights, Google Analytics) is desirable.
