University of the Arts London (UAL) is seeking an experienced College Operations Manager to play a key role in keeping Camberwell, Chelsea and Wimbledon (CCW) colleges running safely, smoothly and effectively. Working across these sites, you’ll lead a varied operational portfolio, spanning risk and compliance, health and safety, events, staff development, facilities and service improvement. You’ll also lead the College Operations team, ensuring colleagues have the support, processes and resources needed to deliver an excellent experience for staff, students and visitors. You’ll deputise for the Head of College Operations and work closely with academic, technical, estates, finance, communications and professional services colleagues across UAL. Alongside overseeing day-to-day delivery, you’ll have the opportunity to shape how services develop. From improving operational systems and strengthening resilience to supporting campus sustainability and estates projects, you’ll turn complex challenges into practical, effective solutions.
About you
You’ll be an experienced operations professional who is confident working in a large, complex organisation, ideally within higher education or the creative industries. You’ll bring strong people-management experience, sound knowledge of areas such as health and safety, information governance or licensing, and a proven ability to deliver successful outcomes while working with multiple stakeholders at different levels of seniority. Collaborative, organised and solutions-focused, you’ll be able to balance immediate operational priorities with a clear view of the bigger picture. You’ll communicate with confidence, build positive relationships and use initiative to improve services and resolve problems.
