University of the Arts London (UAL) is looking for a Facilities Manager to join on a full-time, 12 months fixed term contract. UAL is a global leader in creativity, innovation, and invention across the knowledge economy. Comprising six renowned Colleges and four Institutes across London, UAL continues to shape the future of art, design, fashion, communication, and performing arts.
As part of the Estates Department, the Facilities Manager will line manage a team of Facilities Assistants and manage the delivery of our contracted services to maintain a secure and well-maintained campus environment. Key responsibilities include:
- Implementing and managing FM service strategies
- Overseeing daily operations such as cleaning, maintenance, H&S, and minor works projects and refurbishments
- Collaborating with the Campus Manager to monitor and report on service partner performance against established SLAs and KPIs
The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, along with a demonstrable track record of overseeing a range of Facilities Management operational functions and services within a similar environment. You will possess a proactive approach to problem-solving and customer service, as well as an understanding of Health & Safety regulations and compliance.
We're looking for someone with:
- Proven experience in facilities management and strong team management experience
- Extensive experience in stakeholder engagement across multiple fields
- Experience in representing Estates FM service operations at College meetings or similar
- Practical experience with using Helpdesk and CAFM software
- An IOSH Managing Safely qualification
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
- Experience in undertaking incident management, control duties and escalations
Please note this is a 100% on-site role and is not suitable for hybrid or remote working. The successful applicant will be required to pass an Enhanced DBS check, as the role involves working in a young adult environment.
