- Customer Interaction: Provide a warm welcome to guests, ensuring they are comfortable and well-cared for throughout the event.
- Event Preparation: Assist with the setting up of event spaces, including buffet table, sit down dinner set up with tables, chairs, linens, and place settings, following the event’s specific requirements.
- Menu Knowledge: Be knowledgeable about the menu, including any special items, dietary requirements, and allergens, to assist guests with their choices.
- Communication: Maintain clear communication with fellow staff to ensure smooth and efficient service during the event.
- Guest Relations: Address any guest inquiries or concerns promptly and professionally, aiming to resolve issues to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Event Breakdown: Help clear the event space after the event concludes, including packing up equipment, cleaning, and organising the area for future events.
- Teamwork: Work collaboratively with the event or production team to ensure the smooth running of all events, always maintaining a professional and friendly demeanour.
Skills and Experience Required
- Previous experience in a customer service or catering environment is beneficial but not essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to providing exceptional service.
- Ability to work well as part of a team and independently when required.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as needed.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items.
