Digital Marketing & Membership Assistant

Salary: £26,000 per annum

Working Hours: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm, Mon-Fri, with occasional evenings for our events (37 hours a week)

Responsibilities

  • Video editing: producing reels for social media as well as editing longer video interviews and video content to promote our activities incl. our work with young people and grants scheme projects.
  • Editing and generating ideas for podcasts.
  • Assisting our Communications Manager with any other digital marketing activities as needed, for example with proofreading and e-marketing.
  • Initial point of contact for all enquiries to the Society, by phone, email, and in person, providing a smooth, friendly, and professional customer experience for both individual and corporate members.
  • Membership administration: tracking membership payments, managing the new members approval process, welcoming new members to the Society, sending renewal reminders, chasing lapsed renewals, and assisting our treasurer with tracking and accounting for payments made directly into our BOS bank account.
  • Member database administration: keeping a well-maintained up-to-date database of BOS key contacts and paid-up members.
  • Membership Development: growing our list of active members, with a particular focus on researching and increasing our numbers of younger and corporate members. Development activities may include online research, sending follow-up emails to non-member event attendees to join, contacting potential members with information on the BOS, manning stands at student careers events, and networking at external events.
  • Membership Volunteer & Engagement Projects: managing adhoc member volunteer projects, which may include organising members to help with projects at the Society, such as reorganising our library or volunteering at events, as well as a potential annual members trip to Oman.

Other (5%):

  • Assisting the rest of the BOS team as directed by the Director of BOS, including supporting and attending members\’ events.

Skills and Experience Required

The role requires a well-organised, social media savvy person who can multitask, with excellent attention to detail, creativity, and experience using Canva for design, posting on social media, video editing, and creating short reels. You should also be happy to manage the administrative elements that are central to the job. You will join a small, friendly, busy team, working alongside the Director, Communications Manager, and Events and Programming Assistant. The job is hybrid, full-time, with an essential 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.
