The Opportunity: This is a rare opportunity to work as the creative right-hand to Sifu Simon Lau, a pioneer of martial arts in the West. Sifu Lau was educated by Buddhist monks in China and was the first to teach Wing Chun in the UK. He has been featured in documentaries for the BBC and Discovery Channel, and was the first martial artist invited to speak at the Cambridge Union. Simon Lau Centre is in South Kensington, conveniently located 1 minute away from South Kensington underground station. Established in 1990, the Centre is a renowned hub for Wing Chun Kung Fu and Eastern philosophy, dedicated to the physical, emotional, and spiritual development of its students.

Your Mission: You will bridge the gap between ancient wisdom and the digital age. You will work side-by-side with Sifu Lau to capture his life-long experience in Qigong, Philosophy, and Wing Chun, turning it into a modern digital brand that can help transition Simon Lau Centre into the future.

The Roadmap:

  • Phase 1 (The Voice): Launching X (Twitter) and TikTok. You will distil deep concepts into viral threads and cinematic short-form video.
  • Phase 2 (The Depth): Filming long-form YouTube interviews and training concepts, preserving the lineage online.
  • Phase 3 (The Product): Helping to structure and film a premium Online Qigong Course. You will play a strategic role in building this new digital business from the ground up.

Why Apply:

  • Mentorship: You will spend time one-on-one with a true Sifu, learning about focus, strategy, and self-cultivation.
  • Impact: You are not just posting content; you are building a digital legacy for a renowned institution.
  • Creative Control: You will have high control over the visual style and content strategy.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • We are looking for a Storyteller who understands Platform Culture.
  • TikTok & Video Mastery: You can shoot and edit cinematic, atmospheric video (using Premiere/DaVinci/CapCut). You understand the “language” of TikTok and Reels—how to hook a viewer in 3 seconds—but can elevate it to a documentary standard.
  • Writing for X (Twitter): You can distill complex philosophical ideas into viral threads. You understand hooks, pacing, and how to write for engagement on X without “dumbing it down.”
  • Ambition: You are interested in the business side of the creator economy (how to launch a course/build an audience).
  • Experience with YouTube long-form pacing.
  • An interest in Martial Arts, Eastern Philosophy, or Wellness.
  • Background in Film, Journalism, or Media.
