Internship Location: Onsite only at UNIT 5A, 384 ABBOTT ROAD, LONDON, E14 0UX
Responsibilities:
- Pattern cutting – Assisting in drafting, modifying, and finalising patterns based on design concepts and technical requirements.
- Sewing – Supporting the production process by sewing toiles, prototypes, and final garments using industrial sewing machines.
- Design development – Assisting in research, sketching, and fabric selection to support the creative process.
- Fabric research – Sourcing and organising fabrics, trims, and materials for upcoming collections.
- Garment finishing – Helping with hand-sewing details, pressing, and quality control to ensure professional finishing.
- Photoshoot assistance – Supporting styling, dressing models, and organizing looks during campaign and editorial shoots.
- Social media support – Assisting in creating content, capturing behind-the-scenes moments, and managing visual assets for online platforms.
- Organising studio and shop stock – Maintaining a clean and orderly workspace, arranging garments in the shop, and efficiently managing inventory.
We are looking for someone with:
- Basic Pattern Cutting Skills – Understanding of garment construction and ability to create basic patterns.

Chenchen Studio is an independent fashion brand based in London, dedicated to the art of creative pattern cutting. What will the internship offer the student and what will they learn while they are with you?
- Understanding the full brand journey – Learn how a fashion brand operates from concept to customer.
- Gain insight into the development of a collection, including research, sketching, sampling, and production.
- Assist in the design process and understand how ideas are translated into wearable pieces.
- Hands-on experience with pattern drafting, cutting, and garment construction.
- Gain experience in managing studio operations and supporting small-scale production processes.
- Understand how products are presented in a retail space (including pop-up shops and events).
- Interact with customers and gain valuable insights into sales, feedback, and brand storytelling.
