The predicted salary is between 15 - 15 £ per hour.

Salary £15.65 per hour. Hours: 150 Hours. Start: 1 September 2026 - 13 November 2026 (can finish sooner). Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Thursday: 9:30-17:45.

Internship Length: 6 - 11 weeks (max). Internship Location: Hybrid. We are a young team with diverse needs and circumstances. Let’s find a way that’s best suitable for you and us! We have access to various co-working spaces (Shoreditch, Charing Cross, Hackney Wick). We can discuss with you directly where you’d prefer to work.

The intern will support the ongoing development and optimisation of the Renée Materials online shop and website. Main duties will include:

  • Making website updates and edits using Shopify, HTML, CSS, and Liquid templating.
  • Photographing and editing reclaimed materials and products for the online store.
  • Creating and updating SEO-optimised Shopify product listings.
  • Conducting keyword research and implementing on-page SEO improvements.
  • Supporting improvements to website layout, design, and user experience.
  • Identifying and resolving website issues, including broken links, missing images, and outdated content.
  • Assisting with the development of new website features and improvements.
  • Analysing website traffic, customer engagement, and sales performance using Google Analytics and Shopify reports.
  • Contributing ideas to improve the overall online customer experience and digital presence of the business.

We are looking for a creative, proactive, and technically confident graduate who is excited about sustainability, e-commerce, and digital creativity. This role would suit someone who already has a solid foundation in web, e-commerce, or digital marketing skills and is keen to apply them within a growing start-up environment. As a small team, we are looking for someone who can bring their own knowledge, ideas, and initiative to the role and work confidently on website and e-commerce tasks with a level of independence.

Skills and experience that would be beneficial include:

  • Experience using Shopify or similar e-commerce platforms.
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS and confidence making website edits independently.
  • Understanding of SEO and digital marketing principles.
  • Experience using Canva, Photoshop, Lightroom, or similar creative software.
  • Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Confidence working independently, solving problems, and contributing ideas.
  • Interest in sustainability and the circular economy.

This internship offers the opportunity to apply and further develop existing digital, e-commerce, and creative skills within a live sustainability-focused business. The intern will take an active role in improving and shaping the Renée Materials online store and website experience, working on real projects with direct impact. The successful candidate will gain hands-on commercial experience in:

  • E-commerce and Shopify store management.
  • SEO optimisation, including keyword research, meta titles, alt text, and product page performance.
  • Product photography and image editing for online retail.
  • Website editing and front-end improvements using HTML, CSS, and Shopify Liquid.
  • Website auditing, troubleshooting, and optimisation.
  • User experience and customer journey improvements.
  • Using Google Analytics and Shopify reporting tools to analyse customer behaviour and sales performance.
  • Working within a fast-moving start-up environment where initiative and problem-solving are highly valued.

While support and collaboration will be available throughout the internship, we are looking for someone who can confidently apply their existing skills and contribute ideas independently. This role will provide valuable experience for graduates interested in careers in e-commerce, digital marketing, web development, or creative digital content.
