About us: Nicholas Daley is a London‑based menswear brand known for its strong emphasis on heritage, craftsmanship, and cultural storytelling, with a particular focus on music, community, and identity. The studio operates as a small, hands‑on team, offering interns direct exposure to the design, development, and production processes behind a modern independent fashion label.
What will the internship offer the student and what will they learn while they are with you?
The internship will offer the intern a structured, hands‑on learning experience within a design and production studio, providing insight into how a contemporary fashion brand operates from concept through to finished product. The intern will be supported by the design and production team and will receive training, guidance, and regular feedback throughout the placement.
During the internship, the intern will learn about the design development and production workflow, including assisting with tech packs, sample development, fittings, and garment reviews. They will gain exposure to fabric and trim selection, garment construction, and how design decisions affect cost, lead times, and manufacturing.
The intern will also support production coordination, helping to track samples, understand timelines, and observe communication with manufacturers and suppliers. Through this, they will develop skills in organisation, attention to detail, problem‑solving, and professional communication.
Working closely within the studio environment allows the intern to ask questions, observe processes firsthand, and gradually take on more responsibility as their confidence grows.
