Tutors are required to:
- deliver active lessons using a whiteboard in a classroom setting (materials, lesson plans and worksheets are available for group and one-to-one lessons)
- mark homework
- provide feedback to parents about their children’s progress
- inspire children through positive criticism
Skills and Experience Required:
- confident, enthusiastic, approachable, a good communicator who works well with other leaders
- someone who takes initiative
- good at multitasking
- able to work under pressure and towards set deadlines
- someone who is punctual and reliable
- preferably but not necessarily well-versed in the National Curriculum and experienced in working with or teaching children
- UK GCSEs with minimum B or 6 grade for English and Maths mandatory. Minimum A or 7 grade for Science if teaching Science.
DBS certificate required: it must meet the following criteria:
- Less than 2 years old
- Include child barred list
- Position applied for must be within the child workforce sector
(Note: If it doesn’t meet the criteria then Big Fish Tutors will need to apply for a new DBS on the candidate’s behalf, which the candidate is required to pay for)
