Become a GCSE English and Maths Tutor in Harrow, Pinner, Edgware, Wembley.

Salary: £25 per hour

Hours: 6-12 hours per week

Location: Harrow, Wembley, Pinner, Edgware

Tutors are required to:

  • deliver active lessons using a whiteboard in a classroom setting (materials, lesson plans and worksheets are available for group and one-to-one lessons)
  • mark homework
  • provide feedback to parents about their children’s progress
  • inspire children through positive criticism

Skills and Experience Required:

  • confident, enthusiastic, approachable, a good communicator who works well with other leaders
  • someone who takes initiative
  • good at multitasking
  • able to work under pressure and towards set deadlines
  • someone who is punctual and reliable
  • preferably but not necessarily well-versed in the National Curriculum and experienced in working with or teaching children
  • UK GCSEs with minimum B or 6 grade for English and Maths mandatory. Minimum A or 7 grade for Science if teaching Science.

DBS certificate required: it must meet the following criteria:

  • Less than 2 years old
  • Include child barred list
  • Position applied for must be within the child workforce sector

(Note: If it doesn’t meet the criteria then Big Fish Tutors will need to apply for a new DBS on the candidate’s behalf, which the candidate is required to pay for)
