The University of Sussex Students’ Union is looking for a creative, organised and enthusiastic individual to become our Events Coordinator, helping deliver an exciting and inclusive programme of events that enriches student life. From cultural celebrations and liberation events to student-led activities and major Students’ Union projects, you will play a key role in creating experiences that help students connect, belong and thrive.
Working closely with students, elected officers, colleagues and external suppliers, you will help deliver events that are safe, engaging and memorable. You will work with the Events & Liberation Manager to develop, coordinate and deliver an annual programme of events and activities, and support the delivery of cultural, liberation and community-focused events throughout the year.
You will coordinate student-led events from initial planning through to successful delivery, manage the Students’ Union sound equipment and oversee the day-to-day operation of the Music Practice Room, and support and coordinate the Language Café programme, including managing the Language Café Supervisor. You will also maintain accurate records including risk assessments, event plans, supplier information and budgets, support major annual projects and campaigns, and identify training needs for student organisers, delivering training to help students run safe and successful events.
You will supervise and support student staff, including Events Crew, Events Administrators and the Language Café Supervisor.

- Hours of work: 36.5 hours per week (including evenings and weekends)
