The University of Sussex Students' Union is looking for a passionate, organised and student-focused individual to become our Advice & Academic Policy Coordinator, helping ensure students receive the support, information and representation they need to succeed at university. This is an exciting opportunity to combine frontline advice work with policy development, student representation and systems change.
In this role, you will provide independent, confidential and student-centred advice to students on academic and related issues, while working closely with elected officers, course representatives and University colleagues to identify trends, shape policy and improve institutional practices that affect student outcomes. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality advice and guidance to students, identifying emerging issues and trends from advice cases, and briefing elected officers and colleagues accordingly.
You will support elected officers and student representatives in preparing policy proposals, reports and briefings, act as a specialist resource on University regulations and academic policies, and support regulatory submissions and policy consultation processes. You will also design and deliver training for Course Representatives and Senior Course Representatives, and research and analyse information to produce clear reports and recommendations.

- Hours of work: 36.5 hours per week
- Location: Falmer House, BN1 9QF
