Base pay range

The University of Surrey is a global community of ideas and people, dedicated to life-changing education and research.

Our culture empowers people to achieve this aim and to collectively, and individually, make a real difference.

The role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented vHive Support Assistant (Sustainability) to join our innovative Veterinary Health Innovation Engine (vHive) team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. In this pivotal role, you will support a wide range of activities, with a particular focus on an exciting new Sustainability Incentives Project. You\’ll contribute to meaningful research and innovation that advances animal health while also addressing environmental impact.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

  • Maintaining project records, databases, timelines, and documentation
  • Coordinating and supporting meetings, events, and stakeholder communications
  • Helping prepare presentations and summary reports for internal and external use
  • Liaising with NGOs, government agencies, and other project partners
  • Supporting the smooth delivery of wider vHive initiatives, including the vHive Incubator

You’ll work closely with a friendly, cross-functional team and will play a key role in shaping efficient administrative systems and fostering collaborative relationships.

About You

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
  • Confident in using Microsoft Office and managing digital calendars (e.g. Outlook)
  • A professional and discreet approach to handling sensitive information

A background in higher education or animal health is helpful but not essential – what matters most is your willingness to learn, collaborate, and adapt in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
