The role involves working closely with the University’s academic community and Senior Leadership, across a specific portfolio/funder/theme providing senior level advice, guidance and support for research-related funding, proactively identifying and securing research funding opportunities and new partnerships, and managing large, complex grant submissions. The post holder will be expected to develop an excellent understanding of a particular funder, thematic area and have the opportunity to drive research and bidding strategies forward. Building successful relationships with funders and colleagues at other HEIs will support the University’s R&I strategy.

About you: You are an experienced Research Development Officer/Manager or equivalent with a proven track record in delivering excellent bid and/or research development. You will possess excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and inspire colleagues. You are adept at supporting research opportunities and have a strong understanding of research in the higher education setting.

The University supports a blended working policy, with staff required on campus two or three days a week, dependent on role.
