Our culture empowers colleagues to make a real difference, individually and collectively.
As Student Financial Success Officer, you will lead a forward‑looking approach to financial education that sits alongside our existing financial and student success services. Your work will focus on equipping students with the knowledge, skills and confidence to manage their finances effectively at every stage of their Surrey journey. You will create and deliver an engaging programme of workshops, resources and tailored support that helps students make informed financial decisions, lessens the impact of money worries on their studies and wellbeing, and supports strong continuation and graduate outcomes.
You will work closely with colleagues across Student Experience, Student Success and related services, acting as a visible specialist on bursaries, scholarships and financial capability. Drawing on data and insight, you will identify students who may be at greater risk of financial difficulty and coordinate timely, targeted interventions. Covering the full student lifecycle from applicant through to graduate, your contribution will enhance both the student and staff experience, promote equality of opportunity, and play a key role in delivering institutional priorities and Access and Participation Plan commitments by strengthening engagement, success and the effective use of university funds. You will be highly organised, collaborative and able to manage your own workload while working effectively with colleagues across different services. A background in higher education is not essential and we would be keen to receive applications from individuals across other sectors who believe they have skills and experience that are a match to our job profile. Beyond that, an ability to operate in a dynamic, fast changing, complex environment is essential. This is a great opportunity to help shape the future path of the University and will suit someone who is driven, highly collegiate, responsive and innovative.
