The Economics group at the University of Surrey boasts a strong reputation for research and teaching, with over 40 members from more than 15 countries. Our commitment to high quality, rigorously founded applied and theoretical research has led to a 10th place ranking for Economics in the latest REF2021.

To support our growth strategy, we will appoint a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) level starting in September 2026. The new academic staff member will be fully embedded in our research group, supported to extend their high-quality research agenda, build research networks within economics and beyond, and participate in externally funded collaborative research projects.

Through teaching, you will play a key role in leadership, engagement and student satisfaction, including mentoring MSc and PhD students. We encourage applications from any field within economics, particularly candidates specialising in macroeconometrics and applied macroeconomics.
